Speaking truth to power about the abuse of children inevitably places one in the firing line, as not everyone wants to hear what you have to say. However, after a while, the brickbats and smears that people have thrown at us over the years, particularly since the Home Secretary established the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) have to be balanced against the positive testimonies of the survivors we have helped, and the agencies who refer survivors to us for support.
